CVD Zinc Selenide Broadband Infrared Optical Substrate Felix Glass supplies high-purity CVD ZnSe (Zinc Selenide) optical glass substrates, offered in two distinct grades: IR imaging grade and laser grade. ZnSe features wide infrared transmission from visible to 16μm, making it a core material for CO₂ laser systems and long-wave thermal imaging. We provide custom blanks, windows, domes, lens substrates with precision polishing and anti-reflection coatings. ZnSe Optical Glass | CVD Zinc Selenide CVD ZnSe is chemical vapor deposited zinc selenide, the most common broadband infrared substrate. Material name ≠ performance grade. IR grade ZnSe is optimized for uniform transmission for thermal imaging, while laser grade ZnSe is controlled for ultra-low bulk absorption for continuous high-power 10.6μm CO₂ laser. Mixing grades will lead to laser thermal runaway or imaging defects. Interferometer Inspection Precision Polishing ZnSe Optical Substrate We separate laser-grade and IR-grade ZnSe production and inspection batches strictly, to prevent wrong-grade delivery for laser or thermal imaging projects. BBAR coating is widely used for broadband IR imaging. 10.6μm laser AR coating is mandatory for high-power CO₂ laser optics. Ordinary IR AR coating cannot replace laser-grade low-absorption coating. To generate an accurate quotation within 24 hours, please prepare below information: Laser grade ZnSe is controlled for ultra-low bulk absorption for CO₂ laser. IR grade ZnSe prioritizes uniform transmission for thermal imaging, not suitable for continuous high-power laser. ZnSe is relatively soft. DLC protective coating can improve scratch and moisture resistance for outdoor gimbal and dome applications. Yes, raw CVD ZnSe blanks, semi-finished substrates and fully polished coated components are all available.
