Project Background

A factory automation system supplier needed front protective cover glass for outdoor industrial HMI touch terminals. The equipment works in open workshop with strong sunlight. Ordinary tempered glass causes heavy screen reflection. Operators cannot read the display clearly under bright daylight, and fingerprints and oil contamination accumulate quickly on touch surfaces.

Customer Requirements

Felix Glass Solution

We selected aluminosilicate tempered glass as base substrate for high mechanical strength. We deposited multi-layer AR coating to reduce surface reflection, greatly improving sunlight readability. The top-layer AF nano oleophobic coating repels oil, water and fingerprints, making the touch surface easy to wipe clean.

We performed CNC cutting, hole drilling and edge chamfering. Silk-screen black border printing was applied to hide internal display circuit. Each glass panel passed coating adhesion test, abrasion test and thermal cycling reliability test before delivery.

Project Result

The AR+AF coated cover glass solved the sunlight reflection issue completely. Operators can read HMI screen clearly outdoors. Fingerprint and oil stains can be wiped away easily. The customer finished prototype validation and placed mass production orders for their industrial control terminals.
