A: Yes, Felix Glass is capable of meeting ultra-tight dimensional tolerance requirements for precision optical components, supported by our advanced CNC optical glass processing workshop and professional precision measurement lab. Our factory is equipped with high-precision CNC cutting machines, 5-axis grinding equipment, ultra-precision drilling and chamfering machines, together with optical measuring instruments, digital micrometers and profile projectors for full dimension verification.
For common optical glass substrates such as BK7, fused silica, aluminosilicate glass and sapphire, we can achieve different tolerance grades based on your project demand. For conventional custom glass panels, we normally hold tolerance at ±0.1mm. For high-precision optical components requiring ultra-tight control, we can reach tolerance down to ±0.02mm on key dimensions. For hole position, edge chamfer and thickness parameters, we can also provide micron-level precision for critical optical surfaces after technical evaluation.
We want to clarify that the achievable tolerance also relates to material type, glass thickness, part shape and feature size. For example, thin large-size glass panels and special curved optical elements will have different processing limits. Our optical engineers will evaluate your drawings at the inquiry stage, clearly mark which dimensions can meet your ultra-tight tolerance requirement, point out potential manufacturing limits and propose reasonable optimization suggestions if needed.
During production, every batch will go through first article inspection(FAI). The first sample will be fully measured and dimensionally verified before mass processing starts. In-process sampling inspection is implemented through the whole production flow, and 100% final dimension check will be applied on critical ultra-precision parts. We will attach dimension inspection reports together with delivery documents. Our precision machining capability serves industries including optical sensing, medical equipment, automotive display and industrial measurement instruments that require strict geometric accuracy for optical elements.
Our high-precision CNC machining is used for manufacturing optical windows and optical domes with strict tolerance demands.
