Description

Multispectral HIP ZnS – Clear Zinc Sulfide for Dual-Band EO/IR Systems

Felix Glass fabricates high-transmission multispectral HIP ZnS optical domes, windows and lenses. Unlike standard yellowish FLIR grade ZnS, our HIP multispectral ZnS remains optically clear and delivers consistent transmission across both visible and long-wave infrared bands, ideal for dual-band EO/IR gimbals, airborne surveillance and multi-spectral imaging payloads.

Key Advantages of Multispectral HIP ZnS Optics

  • Dual-band performance: transparent in visible, near-IR and 8–14μm LWIR spectrum
  • HIP hot isostatic pressed material, low optical scatter, zero internal voids
  • Clear substrate appearance, no natural yellow tint of conventional FLIR ZnS
  • Custom fabrication: hemispherical domes, flat windows, plano-convex lenses
  • Compatible with broadband AR, DLC hard coating for outdoor airborne use
  • Strict material grade segregation from FLIR ZnS to eliminate specification mix-ups

Multispectral HIP ZnS vs Standard FLIR Grade ZnS

Standard FLIR grade ZnS is naturally yellow-tinted and optimized exclusively for 8–14μm LWIR thermal imaging, with no visible-light transmission. Multispectral HIP ZnS is clear, post-HIP densified and engineered to pass visible light alongside infrared wavelengths.
