Description

CO2 Laser Grade CVD ZnSe Solution Manufacturer

10.6μm Laser Grade CVD ZnSe Optics for CO₂ Laser Systems

Felix Glass supplies laser grade CVD ZnSe optical components optimized for 10.6 μm CO₂ laser. Laser grade ZnSe features ultra-low bulk absorption to prevent thermal runaway under continuous high-power CO₂ laser irradiation. We produce custom ZnSe plano-convex lenses, protective windows, beam combiners, domes and blanks with laser AR coating for laser marking, cutting, engraving and industrial laser processing equipment.

Material & Grade Overview

Laser grade CVD ZnSe is chemical vapor deposited zinc selenide, exclusively engineered for high-power 10.6μm CO₂ laser. It is strictly controlled for bulk absorption, far tighter than IR imaging grade ZnSe. IR grade ZnSe cannot be used for continuous high-power CO₂ laser, as internal absorption will cause heat accumulation and component cracking. Material substrate does not equal final performance grade. Absorption coefficient, inclusion specification, surface finish and laser AR coating determine laser service life.

CO₂ Laser ZnSe Optics

All laser grade ZnSe is screened for low bulk absorption. We strictly separate laser grade and IR imaging grade to avoid thermal damage and laser failure in the field.

Typical Application

  • CO₂ laser marking machine, laser engraving and cutting equipment
  • Industrial RF CO₂ laser, glass and plastic laser processing
  • CO₂ laser beam delivery, laser scanning optical systems
  • Thermal non-contact measurement and spectroscopy at 10.6μm

Coating Selection Guide

10.6μm single-band laser AR coating is the standard for CO₂ laser optics, minimizing surface reflection and reducing laser back-reflection risk. Coating must be low-absorption laser-grade coating, not ordinary IR AR coating. Learn more about optical coating technology.

FAQ Snippets

Why cannot IR grade ZnSe be used for high-power CO₂ laser?

IR grade ZnSe has higher bulk absorption. Under continuous high CO₂ laser power, it accumulates heat and cracks, causing system failure.

What is the absorption specification for laser grade ZnSe?

We supply laser grade ZnSe with ultra-low bulk absorption at 10.6μm, with full absorption test report provided on request.

Can you supply ZnSe blanks or finished coated laser lenses?

Both options are available: raw laser grade ZnSe blanks, and fully polished + 10.6μm AR coated finished laser optics.
