Felix Optical Glass Co., Limited manufactures IR grade CVD ZnSe hemispherical domes, flat windows and plano-convex lenses, specially optimized for LWIR thermal cameras and EO/IR sensor protection. This IR imaging grade CVD zinc selenide delivers stable broadband infrared transmission, designed for low-to-medium power thermal sensing applications. View Laser Grade CVD ZnSe for high power CO₂ laser systems to confirm the correct material grade for your project.
Available Component Shapes: Dome, Flat Window & Plano-Convex Lens
- Hemispherical IR grade CVD ZnSe dome: front protective optics for thermal imaging sensor heads
- Flat circular ZnSe window: sealed protective cover for LWIR thermal camera assemblies
- Plano-convex ZnSe lens: infrared focusing element for thermal imaging optical trains
Custom outer diameter, wall thickness, curvature radius and edge machining are fully supported. Learn material selection principles in our IR ZnSe thermal imaging selection guide.
Key Material Advantages of IR Grade CVD ZnSe
- Excellent broadband infrared transmission across 0.6–16μm LWIR band
- Good mechanical strength and moisture stability for outdoor EO/IR sensor housings
- Precision polished optical surface, controlled surface figure and scratch-dig quality
- Independent raw material batch segregation, fully separated from laser grade ZnSe stock
- Suitable for thermal camera, infrared surveillance and remote sensing sensor protection
Custom AR Coating & Surface Protection Options
We supply broadband AR anti-reflection coating tuned for LWIR thermal imaging band to boost infrared transmittance and reduce ghost reflection. DLC hard coating can be added to improve abrasion, dust and humidity resistance for field-deployed thermal sensors. Full coating design parameters are detailed in our engineering design specifications blog.

IR grade CVD ZnSe features moderate hardness and low thermal expansion, suitable for outdoor EO/IR sensors with normal temperature fluctuation. It is insoluble in water; DLC coating can further enhance surface protection in high humidity environments. All raw materials are stored separately from laser-grade ZnSe to avoid cross-grade contamination.
Custom Manufacturing, Prototype & Quality Control
We accept OEM custom drawings, small prototype batches and serial production. Prototype samples can be produced after drawing confirmation for assembly fit testing and spectral validation. Every batch provides material grade certificate, dimensional inspection report, scratch-dig record and spectral transmittance test data. Material handling and polishing stations are isolated to avoid cross contamination with laser grade ZnSe material.
